Semi-finalist ~ Landlocked Film Festival

Woo-hoo! Some more cool news to share:

Dear Scriptwriter,

We would like to thank you very much for choosing to send your script to Landlocked Film Festival.  We consider it a great privilege to have the opportunity to read the incredible variety of scripts that people are writing.  The competition was truly fierce because we received so many wonderful entries.  All scripts were read in full.  The screening committee had a very difficult job in choosing which scripts to accept as semi-finalists.

We’re happy to inform you that your script is indeed a semi-finalist!

Within two weeks we expect to have the top three finalists chosen, and that will be indicated on the website.  We hope you will keep Landlocked Film Festival in mind for your future scripts; every year brings a new set of scripts and new people on the screening committee.

For this year, if you are in the area during festival time (August 27-30, 2009), all filmmakers and scriptwriters who entered the competition are invited to attend our special workshops at no cost.  We have two set up so far: (1) a UCLA professor will give a workshop on screenwriting and (2) a Los Angeles director/editor of narrative and commercial shorts will give a workshop in shooting for narrative film, including live work with two actors in front of the class.  You are invited to attend these and other special events at the festival.

Again, thank you for your submission.  We are humbled by the trust that independent filmmakers and scriptwriters bestow on our festival.

Sincerely,

The Landlocked Film Festival Screening Committee

Stay tuned…
