Me? Stephen King? Together at last…

I came across this link for “The Sleeping Deep” on IMDb, posted by the same James Zahn at Fangoria.

Amusing how they tagged Stephen King and not… Hitchcock!

Fred Ward as H.P. “Philip” Lovecraft

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , on January 25, 2010 by runningfornow

In my ongoing quest to pair actor with character in The Sleeping Deep, I’ve had Fred Ward in mind for quite a while to play old-timer Stony Hill.  A guy can dream, can’t he?

I came across this link below and figured Mr. Ward is at least familiar with “Lovecraftian” themed projects.

While I’d love to watch “Cast a Deadly Spell” (produced by Terminator’s Gale Anne Hurd), something tells me finding any copies will prove difficult.  Did anyone see this when it was on HBO back in 1991?  Thought I’d ask.

The flying pentagram partially covering Fred’s loins had me laughing.

Happy Monday!

Straight from Gordy Hoffman:

Makes sense to me!

1,000 and counting

OK, so this isn’t the biggest deal in the world, especially in light of this week’s heart-wrenching news, but The Sleeping Deep teaser on YouTube now has over 1,000 views. Since the clip doesn’t feature dancing cats, babbling babies, bikini babes or Will Farrell, I consider this a milestone in our own underdog indie-budget way.

Thanks for your continued support!

It’s comments like this one…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on January 13, 2010 by runningfornow

A YouTube member who goes by CapNCorn posted this comment regarding the new 1-minute teaser/trailer for The Sleeping Deep:

I’ve been hoping that some day, someone would come along with a Lovecraftian Horror story that truly lives up to that title, and from everything I’ve seen, this is it. Whatever you do, do not give up on this, and do not let it fall. The genre, and the fans, need it.

Just when it feels as if my energy and enthusiasm are waning and long gone, comments like this one offer much needed encouragement to keep hope alive and soldier on in the face of uncertainty.

So thank you, CapNCorn… wherever you are… whoever you are. :)

The Trailer Festival rejects TSD trailer – WTF?

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on January 9, 2010 by runningfornow

I’m a bit perplexed by this news:

We regret to inform you that your trailer has not been selected for the festival.

However, we would be happy to give you a free entry for another project if you introduce another filmmakers to the festival and they submit.  In this event please contact with RESUBMIT in the subject.

Sorry we don’t have better news.
The Review Team

Not sure what sort of trailers they are looking for, more spoon-fed and inside-the-box perhaps? Weird.

The new teaser/trailer got a nod from FANGORIA online. Link here:

Thanks to James Zahn for adding us to the front page. Appreciate it.
